Ben & Jerry's

Yesterday was free cone day from Ben and Jerry's! Wun Chong and I had dublin mudslide and Butchokoy got a regular chocolate flavor. Sarap ng dublin mudslide.
Grabe haba ng pila ha and pwede pila ulet pag naubos mo na! And I thought it's just here in VT since they started here pero it's around the world pala! It's their way of thanking their customers for their support and to celebrate 28 years of Ben & Jerry's! YUMMY :D

My current fave B&J's is Pistachio Pistachio but I still have to finish this Cherry Garcia :D Takaw hehe kaya taba-taba :D

Oh yeah we almost didn't make it to the free ice cream since we had to finalize our offer in the Quarry Ridge Townhouse. We had to give the best offer since another one is on the listing agent's table. We'll find out later if we'll be chosen by the seller.

And last Friday nga pala, Wun Chong treated us at Applebee's after having Butchokoy's ear checkup and pedia said he's a-okay na :D I had Grilled Chicken Cordon Bleu and Wun Chong had Bourbon Street Steak.

And for our dessert I had Triple Chocolate Meltdown which the little guy loved and Wun Chong had Sizzling Apple Pie.

Lobelia, also known as Indian Tobacco, is a genus in the family Lobeliaceae, comprising some 200 species, some of which are cultivated in gardens. These include Lobelia cardinalis (Cardinal Flower or Indian Pink), Lobelia siphilitica (Blue Lobelia), Lobelia fulgens and Lobelia erinus.

Some botanists place the genus in the family Campanulaceae, and the Angiosperm Phylogeny Group did not make a firm decision in this, listing the genus under both families. Lobelia erinus is an annual flowering plant often grown in window boxes and hanging baskets. Many varieties have been cultivated with a wide variety of colours.

Lobelia species are used as food plants by the larvae of some Lepidoptera species including Setaceous Hebrew Character. The genus is named after Matthias de Lobel (1538–1616).
Native Americans used Lobelia to treat respiratory and muscle disorders, and as a purgative. One species, Lobelia siphilitica, was considered a cure for syphilis. Herbalist Samuel Thompson made lobelia and cayenne widely popular as a medicinal aid across the country in the early 1800's.

Sleepy

Hay antok na ko ZzZzzz... Ang tagal naman ni Wun Chong. He's playing chess every Thursday night, he joined the Burlington Chess Club kasi. 'Twas funny on his first game he was asked what grade he's in, akala nila teen-ager pa lang ang daddy ni Butchokoy :D Ay naku baliw na naman sa chess at kung anik-anik na chess books at chess DVDs and inorder sa ebay at amazon. At minsan suma-sideline pa ng pagpo-poker hmp kaines...

It's 10pm na. Last night, errr early AM na nga pala ako nakatulog, almost 2am. I so wanted to eat kalabasa so I had to stay up late to cook. Kaines noh ang hirap magbalat ng kalabasa! I had a small cut tuloy sa index finger ko :( sakeetttt!!!

This afternoon nga pala we checked out the townhouse in Juniper Drive, Wun Chong loved it and we're planning err preparing to make an offer, well that is if we can get our finances work. Cute ng loob, OC siguro yung nakatira dun kasi talagang naka-arrange ng maayos mga gamit and even the clothes are arranged by color. And that's what I liked about it coz I know how they kept and loved their house. And they have a son, too. Probably same age as Butchokoy so they have all these baby safety gadgets/tools. Butchok had the time of his life playing with the boy's slide and cars, woah that little boy sure has nice toys! Sana i-garage sale nila when they move out hahaha wishful thinking lang...

Speaking of garage sales, tagal mag-start ng garage sales dito. Our realtor said in the next few weeks pa daw coz it's still little bit chilly in the mornings. Hmp samantalang sa Cali eh Feb pa lang garage sale season na! Hay naku I have to wash the dishes pa pala!

Tapos na ba ang Sakura Festival sa Japan? Naalala ko lang sa isang post ng isang GT. Hay I really want to experience the Sakura Festival. I can still remember the folksong we used to sing in Sta. Ana during my elementary days. I love this song...

Niagara Falls

We had our first trip this 2006! Last march 26-29, we visited the spectacular Niagara Falls in New York. It really is spectacular! This family photo was taken with a view of the Rainbow Bridge, and can you see why it's called by that name? So sad lang the Maid of the Mist and the Cave of the Winds are closed for the season and will be opening on May pa. Nevertheless we saw the falls illumation at night, this is uber nice and romantic, the lights from the Canada side change colors pa. But we weren't able to cross the Canadian border coz we don't have Canadian Visa pa at the moment. Howell, the highlight of our Niagara trip was to meet Ivan, Wun Chong's bestfriend since college days pa and has become my friend na rin. So deadma nya ang 7-8hrs drive from Burlington to Niagara.
That's Ninong Ivan with our son at the pic above. Good thing lang, Butchokoy doesn't mind long drives/travels, mana sa parents na lakwatsero at lakwatsera.

Last April 2nd my dearest Nanay celebrated her 53rd birthday. I miss her so much! I love you Nay!
